This is a beautiful Ametrine gem! Ametrine is a naturally occurring variety of Quartz. The purple and yellow bi-color is formed by a unique twin law (Brazil Law Twinning). This is when two separate color crystals are intergrown to create an alternating radiation pattern. The purple (Amethyst) and yellow (Citrine) triangles can be viewed down the c axis when the crystal is cut. The two colors are oriented based upon their position inside the crystal to create the famous bicolor gemstones. This stone is a beautiful Hexagon shape that showcases shades of pale gold and lavender. It is completely natural and untreated! Cut at Kosnar Gems, Colorado, USA. Enjoy!
