This stone has a color is a deep dark blue color that is rich and saturated.  Indicolite is the blue variety of Elbaite Tourmaline and fairly rare, especially in this quality.  This material is from an old collection of rough and impossible to replace now.  The Santa Rosa Mine in Minas Gerais is famous for some of the finest Indicolite in the world, but there is little of the material left on the surface of the planet.  This stone is nearly 4 carats which is a fantastic size for jewelry.  The cut is a specialty radiant Asscher shape that is excellent for Tourmaline.  You can see nice flashes of deep blue when the stone is moved on the hand.  Cut at Kosnar Gem Co, Colorado, USA.  Enjoy!
