These beautiful Nigerian Spessartines were coming out steadily several years ago, but now seem to be a dwindling treasure.  This stone has such a rich, saturated fiery orange color that is beautiful.  It glitters and flashes nicely, but the color is the dominant feature.  This stone has been concave cut to produce better light return and that radiant pattern of flash.  Concave cutting is created with cylindrical burs that make concave cuts into the surface of the gem.  The table of the stone is still flat faceted to allow for the best light return.  This gem is brilliant and will make a stunning piece of jewelry!  Cut at Kosnar Gems, Colorado, USA.  Enjoy!
